Getting the box to work when it initially isn’t.
Troubleshooting General Tip
When in doubt, unplug the ED-BMS Diagnostic box from the computer, close all the windows, plug the box back in, and run the program again.
You won’t hurt anything.
Things to check

When you plug the box into the computer, you should see a red LED glowing inside the box. If you don’t, suspect that the USB port or cable is bad.

You can troubleshoot all of the computer connectivity without being at the car. The driver and terminal program configuration can all be tested with just the computer and the box (and the USB cable). If you get a message on the computer that looks like:

then you have gotten all the computer configuration correct and now just need to plug into the car.
